halfway...

21 weeks pregnant and i think my bump is same size as when Rex was 37 weeks and ready to be born! Hope you like how I am emphasizing its girth with a horizontal B&W stripe... Wish it were red and white.. Feeling good and very very excited about meeting our new person before Christmas!

Oaky and I spent some time walking around Kings Park this week - yes it is v beautiful and I love love love that a dog is welcome! And petted. By masses of Japanese schoolgirls I spoke to from Sapporo.

special pancakes for the school holidays

Photobucket

Good morning comrades - saw this on 'Not Quite Nigella' this morning and thought I would link as it looks like a great idea to keep small troops entertained & fed.

Start with a squeezy bottle (like you may find vinegar / tomato sauce in at a beach kiosk. That's the trick! What other animals do you think would work? We would be all about jellyfish here.

Fleamarket finds: Hoot Hoot and the Cakies

This little fellow:
Photobucket
and this lovely:
Photobucket are new here

These 'biscuit pillows' in the background are repurposed from my foam mattress and they have been a HIT in the cool weather. We have made houses, tunnels, cubbies, bedrooms and a coffin (!!?) which means I get to do some laps all on my own, without 'help'!

Poooooooodle or Shihtzu?

Soooo,

For all of you on the edge of their couches. We went back to check the results of operation Boomer Signs, and hello SUCCESS! On Sunday afternoon - a full 48 hours later and no cigars!!!

Does this mean that a few signs tacked to the fence made people guilty / excited enough to pick up after themselves? We had some doubt so tried the next track, and ha-ha, there were 8! Count em 8 bombs!

nothing else happening here. Congrats to the O'Sullivans for young Fletcher born today.

a fun friday

We all feel a little bit political sometimes. Today, my big cuddle and I took part in, OK we lead, some activism on a local beach. We are sick sick sicky poo of the dog poop on the beach. Despite signage, loads of bag dispensers and bins in easy reach, by Saturday afternoon when we take Pokey for her big run, the place is literally LOADED. So we took matters into our own hands. Hoping to inspire others' hands.

We had 6 white boomers floating around from a christmas past (by the way, corflute fab stuff) and turned them into a parade of reminders en route to beach. See here:

What was fab, was stalking the track as we left, spotting one lady LAUGH and then turn back for a bag for her bitch. We will monitor to see if the nasties take them down before sun-up. Or pick them up.

Got all masterchef and plated Rex's hamburger as hamburglettes.

And settled down for a few laps.

This is going to be a pebble vest for Rex. My first non-square knitted item. I am trying to decipher 'sl 1' and 'BO' and have decided these are obviously SWEAR LOUDLY ONCE and SWEAT PROFUSELY CAUSE IT IS HARD WORK...

SANDWICH! flea market finds

There is a lot of talk of 'sandwich!!!' at our place since we took receipt of two foam mattresses that are now gracing our playroom.
Photobucket

This is my first 'flea market finds' posting, and have had a bonza week. Firstly, at the home of the mattresses came these gifted lounge cushions, perfect for my $10 cane lovely from the not-to-be home of Skelton St, Hamilton East. They fit, they were free, AND they are white, very white.

Then, with $5.50 in my funds, Rex and I spotted a local g'sale and found these: an old copper pot, soon to be flowing overeth with mint, and a lovely 36inch ruler. At the same place there was a 35mm Canon SLR with leather cover, a slide projector and various lenses. Not 'spewin' as yet, so according to my 'rules, it wasn't to be...
Photobucket

I like to find and seek, so I think this 'fleamarketfindin' is going to be a regular posting ie "what new junk did we collect this week" There should be a mid-week, "what did we recycle, give-away, gift, repurpose' post also, unless we can find space in our lives for more 'stuff'.

a beautiful lady

act 1 scene 1: 4pm. An ethnically delicious suburban post office....bustling
A small chatty boy waits while his mum packages things to be sent across the country. Enter a lady:

Rex: "Mum that was a chocolate lady"
Me: "Yes Rex isn't she beautiful"

Here are some more chocolate beauties in her honour.
